Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors (-8 ½, 186 ½)
The Raptors will look to avoid a season-high fourth consecutive home loss when the Sixers come to town.
Their performances at the Air Canada Centre this season have left a lot to be desired and Saturday’s loss to Cleveland dropped them to 8-8 against the spread at home. Last season, they finished with the second-best home record in the East (30-11), and lost consecutive home games just once.
The Sixers travel to Canada on a four-game losing streak. While they are unlikely to win straight up, they have a great shot at covering the 8 ½-point spread against the struggling Raps.
Pick: Sixers
Detroit Pistons at Dallas Mavericks (-2 ½, 189)
Dallas has won nine of its last 11 games, including four straight, since the return to form of Dirk Nowitzki.
The forward got off to a sluggish start this season, averaging fewer than 20 points in 11 of his first 24 games. But he has turned that around in the past month and is putting up 26.6 points and 9.2 rebounds in his last 10 games.
Last season, Nowitzki averaged 28.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 57.1 percent from the field in two games against Dallas.
Pick: Mavericks
Indiana Pacers at Phoenix Suns (-11, 225)
The home team is 12-3 ATS in the last 15 meetings between these teams. Based on the Suns’ red-hot performance in Monday’s win over Denver, that trend is set to continue tonight.
Phoenix crushed the Nuggets 137-115, matching a franchise record in three-pointers (20) in the process. Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks combined for 50 points and 16 rebounds in that game, with Banks hitting seven treys in eight attempts.
The Suns have won five straight games against the Pacers, covering the spread in four of those contests.
Pick: Suns
